”Sceptical” Ashley told us on our Comments Page…
”I was very sceptical of anything that claimed to do this or that without being harmful. I am extremely careful about what I put into my body, mostly because of the long-term consequences.
A friend and I decided to go halves on a pack of the Coffee Plus+ and two days later, we both ordered a box each.
The key with this product is to be clued in enough to maintain regular, nutrient dense meals. You will probably notice that food becomes less appealing and your portion sizes become smaller. It's important to keep eating!
As far as working out goes, I am full of energy and my time at the gym or out at the park is becoming a lot more effective and efficient.
I really do recommend this product, especially for people who need that extra push to get back on the wagon.
I'm really glad I tried this product and I will keep going with it, as I think I'm still adjusting. Give it a try! ”
THE world's fattest man is set to reveal his weight-loss tips

Fifty-stone Paul Mason, 48, spoke about writing the book after having a life-saving gastric bypass.
The former postman from Ipswich had to drop 127kg from his 444kg peak last year before he could have the operation, which limits the amount of food going into his stomach. He used to gorge on 20,000 calories a day - eight times what the average man eats.”

It is good that he is finally helping himself. It’s a real wakeup call to ourselves, to not let our weight get out of control. To take responsibility for ourselves and seek help. Good on Paul for doing something finally, it’s never too late to start. He has a long way to go, and any progress back down to a healthier weight range is a good move.
I just realised that at Paul’s peak weight, it would be the same as me carrying another 6 extra people my size around with me all the time. Wow!

Apples!

Apples are a low-sugar fruit that contains ample amounts of pectin. Pectin slows the digestion of sugar and also creates a feeling of fullness. Obviously apples are healthy. Everyone knows the old saying about keeping the doctor away. The pectin in apples, along with the wonderful phytonutrients, both go a long way to keeping the doctors at bay.
Best of all for weight-loss purposes, apples fill you up. You have to chew an apple (that means no apple juice!) The chewing process signals the brain that an ample food source is being consumed. Studies have shown that this signal can actually “short-circuit” the hunger signals. In short, you can trick your body into believing it is consuming more calories than you are.
Your apple snack should happen a few hours after your second feeding—sooner if you get hungry. Looks like we all need to learn to like apples if you do not already. They look like they will become our new best friend!

Aussie women have highest rising obesity rate
01/02/2010 10:30 Filed in: Dieting | Weight Loss
The news.com.au web site reports
”AUSTRALIAN women have the fastest rising obesity rate and are tipping the scales as one of the heaviest nations on the planet.
”For the first time Australian women are close to matching America's obesity level prompting health experts to warn women over 30 years of age that they can no longer be complacent about gaining weight, The Daily Telegraph reports.
”With such a high rate of increase the nation's health experts believe our level of obesity has already caught up to America.
”The research, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, has alarmed health professionals even though they have known women have been putting on more weight than men in the past 10 to 15 years.
”Adults have also been piling on the kilos. Newcastle University associate professor in nutrition and dietetics Dr Clare Collins said because weight gain was gradual, people did not notice it. ’On average, a person every year will gain up to 300g,’ she said. ’I don't think the average person realises the extent of the problem.’” News.com.au reports
That is the problem with gradualism. As with most things today, they are gradually getting worse, movies, TV, books the whole entertainment industry. What is acceptable today was totally shocking 10-15 years ago! But because it has slowly changed, we have come to accept it as ”normal.”
The same with our weight, we gradually gain over the years, buying bigger size clothes etc., adjusting to it as ”normal” now, but if you suddenly put on 10, 15, 30, 50 or more kilos suddenly over night, it would be a national emergency!”
Thankfully, one day you do realise that you have a problem and that you need to do something about it. Angeline & I are so glad we found the slimming coffee, in the past year we have lost most the excess kilos we had gradually added over the last 15 years and we are getting close to our goal weight.
It is great to be able to jump on the scales each week and see that we are still gradually decreasing in weight (not going up). We are no longer have to worry about food, dieting, stressing out about what & when to eat. We are free : ) it’s a good feeling.

Why Most New Years Resolutions FAIL & How Your's Can Succeed!
30/01/2010 10:11 Filed in: Dieting | Weight Loss

- Motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said, "I find it fascinating that most people plan their vacations with better care than they plan their lives. Perhaps it's because escape is easier than change."
- Success psychologists say that 95% - 97% of the people in the world who do NOT have written goals, fail. While 3-5% who have written goals and succeed.
TIP #1: Repetition.
Long term behavior changes don't take place when you set goals once, as with most new years resolutions. There's an old saying in "self help" circles that it takes at least 21-30 days to form a new habit.
If you make resolutions on January 1st and you don't continue to repeat and reinforce your desire for those "goals," no new habits are formed. Your resolutions wither away and die and any results obtained through willpower (trying to force the new behaviours through conscious effort), are quickly lost when you slip back to your old ways.
In 1956, when Earl Nightingale wrote "The Strangest Secret is that we become what we think about most of the time."
Earl is right, you don't change your body by trying to change your body. You change your body by creating new patterns of thinking.
A great thing to do is to have a visualisation board, put up pictures of your goals, who you want to be, what you want to achieve, what you want to look like. Because, trying to force new behaviours with sheer willpower alone, while continuing with your old ways of thinking, you will always fail. When you change your thinking, get focused on your goals, then you change your body and your life...
TIP #2: Emotion is a goal-turbocharger
We see another reason why new years resolutions fail: They are set casually with no strong emotional "reason why" that you need to make a change permanent. On January 1st, you may think you're setting "real" goals, but if you're like most people, you're not only doing it a mere once a year and then losing focus, you're also likely to be making flimsy, wishy-washy, emotion-less "resolutions."
You might want to back up and read that quote again, maybe even write it down or print it out, because this one hits the bull's-eye!...Zig Ziglar once said that, "A goal casually set and lightly taken will be freely abandoned at the first obstacle."
This truly explains why New Year's resolutions almost never work, and why so few people can keep off the kilo's after they get rid of them. Goal setting should not be casual or lightly taken.
- Goal setting is an important and serious matter.
- This is not a game - this is your life!
- Make the time to set REAL goals, today!
